The Taiwan Flour Millers’ Association has initiated an international tender to purchase up to 109,325 metric tons of grade 1 milling wheat, with a focus on sourcing from the United States. The tender, with a deadline for price offers set for November 30, targets various wheat types for 2024 shipment from the U.S. Pacific Northwest coast. The association is considering two consignments, one for shipment between January 15 and January 29, and the other for shipment between February 2 and February 16. The wheat types sought include dark northern spring, hard red winter, and white wheat. This move comes as U.S. wheat futures recently experienced a decline to life-of-contract lows due to dull demand and technical selling.
