Singapore-based Pacific International Lines (PIL) and Dubai's DP World have entered a collaboration to develop sustainable solutions for decarbonizing global shipping supply chains. The agreement, announced at the UN Climate Change Conference, involves trials of shipments using biofuel blends and renewable energy-powered container handling equipment. PIL previously conducted a trial of marine biofuel on its vessel Kota Megah in April. The partnership aims to explore alternative fuels such as e-LNG, green methanol, or green ammonia and may expand to include other ports within DP World's global network. The initiative aligns with DP World's commitment to becoming carbon-neutral by 2040 and achieving net-zero carbon emissions by 2050.
