Debris, including containers and various items, has washed up on Denmark's North Sea shoreline after a Maersk container ship lost boxes overboard during Storm Pia just before Christmas. Maersk is investigating the incident, and authorities have issued warnings about the containers and debris floating in the North Sea. At least four containers have washed ashore, with the possibility of 42 missing containers remaining in the North Sea. The debris, including refrigerators, shoes, consumer goods, and medical items, has been scattered along nearly 10 miles of coastline. Maersk confirmed that at least 40 containers are believed to have been lost overboard from the vessel, and a full inspection will be conducted in Gdansk, Poland.
