The European H2PORTS project, led by the Fundación Valenciaport, organized a public demonstration for the world's first hydrogen-powered ReachStacker and a 4x4 tractor unit. The hydrogen ReachStacker, using a fuel cell from Nuvera, operates with zero emissions and stores hydrogen in high-pressure tanks, providing similar performance to diesel alternatives with reduced greenhouse gas emissions and noise pollution. The demonstration also featured the world's first hydrogen-powered terminal tractor, showcasing its autonomy, reliability, and power during RoRo operations. The initiative aims to promote hydrogen adoption in port handling equipment for environmental and cost benefits.
