Deltamarin has inked a design contract with China Merchants Jinling Shipyard for the comprehensive design and engineering of Wallenius Wilhelmsen's advanced Pure Car & Truck Carriers (PCTCs). The 'Shaper Class' vessels, ordered by Wallenius Wilhelmsen, are environmentally focused, boasting a capacity of 9,350 CEUs and utilizing methanol as a dual fuel. The vessels, designed for energy efficiency, can seamlessly switch to alternative fuels like ammonia when available, aligning with Wallenius Wilhelmsen's commitment to achieving net-zero emissions solutions by 2027. The contract covers four confirmed units, with an option for up to eight more, and the first vessel is scheduled for delivery in the latter half of 2026.
