AtoB@C Shipping has taken delivery of Electramar, marking the initial vessel in a series of twelve highly energy-efficient plug-in hybrid ships. These vessels aim to reduce CO2 emissions by up to 50% compared to the current generation of ships, incorporating shore power connectivity and a substantial battery installation for enhanced fuel efficiency and minimized noise and emissions while in port. Designed for versatility in transporting various bulk and breakbulk products, the vessels feature crew accommodations and a bow-based bridge, providing an unobstructed deck for loading additional cargo and accommodating longer project cargoes. The initiative aligns with AtoB@C Shipping's commitment to green shipping and sustainability, contributing to their vision of becoming a responsible and reliable partner for customers and stakeholders. The second vessel in the series, Stellamar, was launched on October 1st, with the remaining vessels set to be sold to the pooling investor group, as previously announced.
